Savannah Fashion Week 2012

May 24, 2012

This was the first time we’ve participated in Savannah Fashion Week, and thanks to some wonderful customers and friends, it was a huge success!

The designers/customers who showed on the runway on May 17th were:

Michael Etienne-Edwards
Alexis Turner
ChiaoWan Lim
Paige Joost
Torry Strayhorn
Jamie Bourgeois
Hope Hellberg
Carel Landry
Maria Pena
April Johnston
Kelsie Blanchard
Erin Kordsmeier

Every look shown on the runway consisted of garments and accessories made from materials purchased here at Fabrika Fine Fabrics, and the designers were a combination of local designers and students from SCAD studying Fashion, Fibers, Accessories, and Jewelry.  We couldn’t have asked for a better group of artists to work with…everyone was so talented and passionate about what they do, and it made for such a great mix of people!
Keep an eye out for these designers in the very near future- we’re sure they’re all going to continue to do great things!

Our reason for participating in SFW was to help generate some much deserved buzz for local designers.  Their work was featured on Savannah’s lifestyle blog, You’re Welcome Savannah, in addition to Savannah Magazine’s upcoming special: Made in Savannah, plus Savannah Morning News and several other media outlets.

We’d also like to extend a huge THANK YOU to the models that helped make the show such a success (including Halo Models & Talent Group) !!  Their professional behavior and enthusiastic attitude truly contributed to the overall show in a huge way…so thank you guys!

Another thanks goes to the stylists at Park West Salon and the make-up artists that helped to further complete the runway looks.

Thanks again to everyone who helped make SFW 2012 such a great experience!!

We’re already planning for next year 😉
But in the meantime, here are some shots from the runway…
